Summer Highlight Reel
Hi there! Now that August is nearly over, I thought it would be fun to share a little highlight reel from this summer. When I was pulling together everything for this post it reminded me of my childhood scrapbooking days. There is something special about having pictures to look back on that represent the highlights of a season. While this summer was one of the most difficult times of my entire life and I was pretty much in extreme pain most days, I really experienced some special memories. I’m excited to share some pictures that highlight the good times on this blog!
Elizabethtown Getaway
Once Pennsylvania’s restrictions started lifting, my sister and I booked a mini getaway in Elizabethtown, PA, for a chance of scene. We stayed at an AirBNB on a lovely country property with a pool that was about 20 minutes away from Hershey Park area. While the park itself was still closed when we visited, we were able to check out Chocolate World and get some Hershey magic there. Also it was pretty much empty—a surreal and awesome experience!
Island Beach Getaway
Later in the summer I had an opportunity to spend some time with my “godmother” at the shore! The beach was right next to Island Beach State Park, NJ, and our place was overlooking the park. It was very relaxing and healing to get time in the ocean, away from life, and with one of my best friends!
Random Summer Moments
Aside from those trips, there were still a lot of little special snapshots throughout the summer that are worth capturing. Baby birds nesting on the front porch, some afternoons at the park by the lake, some special treats and LOTS of “quarantine” drives!
Well, that’s all for this post! I hope that each of you reading this were also able to have some special summer memories to hold onto IN SPITE of all the turbulence and darkness around us these days.
